The Chicken Binder
As a side quest, I’ve begun to collect ACEOs of chickens.
ACEOs are Art Card Editions and Originals. These are trading cards created by artists to be sold and traded to collectors just like any other kind of trading card.
The specific goal of this quest is to fill an entire trading card binder with original art of chickens from other artists. To get all of these cards, I’ve put up an open call for trades: you draw me a chicken, you can trade for any chicken in the binder.
Rules are simple: the piece must be 2.5 × 3.5 inches, it must feature a chicken, and it must be signed by you on the front or back. That’s it! Seriously, don’t over think it, I just want a binder of chicken art created by other people. It doesn’t matter if you consider yourself an artist or not. That’s part of the joy of the project is that I get chickens of all varieties from everyone - full time artists, hobbyists, random people I’m able to rope into it from the street.
If you’re interested in trading, send me an email or message me on TikTok or Instagram! I’ve already set up a few online trades. Additionally, I’ll have the binder and supplies with me at any market I participate in. You can make one on the spot or plan to show up to the market with the chicken you’ve created and trade it for any chicken in the binder.
Yes, this also means anyone can take your chicken once it’s added to the collection. That’s the other fun part is that your art might venture outside of the collection to someone that loves it enough to take it home.
